SAVE THE WORLD

Fortnite Save the World is set in a world where an entity known as The Storm has wiped out 98 percent of the population and has spawned Husks and Mist Monsters to attack the living. Homebase seeks you, the Commander, to lead heroes into battle and expand the Storm Shield in order to reclaim our world from the Storm. Through various missions, you can build massive forts and/or fight hordes of monsters. Create weapons, train heroes and survivors, and level them up to face tougher and more difficult Monsters.

Every season, progress through the 3-Zone Campaign and various Limited Time Missions and Questlines. Perk up your weapons and complete quests to earn banners that show off your efforts.

Only Windows PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S are supported.

Battle Royale

Fortnite Battle Royale is a gamemode in which 100 players launch from the Battle Bus and compete for a Victory Royale either solo, in duos, trios, or even squads of four. Each season, level up the Battle Pass to earn cosmetics, V-Bucks, and other rewards. Loot can be found in the form of Weapons, Items, and Consumables. The higher the rarity, the more powerful your weapon. Be aware of The Storm and flee if you don't want to take damage. Playlists are also available in Fortnite: Battle Royale.

Creative

Fortnite Creative is a gamemode in which you and up to 16 friends can build islands or explore existing ones. Players can customise server settings, place prebuilt structures from Battle Royale, galleries (collection of assets from different Battle Royale structures), devices (traps, timers, vehicles, etc.), and items and weapons from other gamemodes, some of which are vaulted, in this gamemode.

Devolpment

At the 2011 Spike Video Game Awards, Fortnite was named Save the World. Fortnite's first concept emerged during a Game Jam. At the time, Fortnite was described as "a world where you explore, scavenge, build, and ultimately survive."

When development began, Fortnite was built on the Unreal Engine 3, with the intention of transitioning to UE4 when Early Access began. The first round of Save the World's Alpha began in late 2014. The Alpha depicted four players navigating an Open-World Scenario, scavenging for resources by breaking down various objects such as trees, rocks, construction sites, and so on. Players would eventually have to use the materials they had gathered to fortify the objective, which at the time was just an ATLAS (because different mission types didn't exist at the time.) The world would become more difficult as the days passed. There isn't much known about the alpha.

More heroes and features were added as development progressed. The concept of gathering resources in the environment and constructing a fort to combat the husk pathing remained the same, with new weapons and tools to assist players in combating the husks.

Fortnite was released as an Early Access game on July 25th, 2017. The game received a Campaign and a major UI overhaul for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Lootboxes were added because Llama Piatas could give random resources. More missions were added and expanded on as Epic continued to experiment and add new ideas in Season 8, such as Weapon Perks and the Hero Loadout Update.
